Uses: Fennel is often used to flavor fish, eggs, salads, curry, and sausages.

History: The Ancient Greeks called fennel marathron. This is the origin of the word “Marathon” (meaning place of fennel). Marathon was the site of the “Battle of Marathon” in 490 B.C.

Origin: Fennel is native to southern Europe and the Mediterranean area.
