Marjoram

General Description: Marjoram is a grey-green leaf of the undershrub Majorana hortensis that is a plant in the mint family. It has a sweet pine and citrus flavor and is related to Oregano.

Uses: Marjoram is often used to flavor meat, chicken, and fish. It is also used in the blend Herbes de Provence.

History: Marjoram was known to the Greeks and Romans and was as a symbol of happiness. It was said that if Marjoram grew on the grave of a deceased person, they would have eternal happiness.

Origin: Marjoram is mainly produced in Egypt, the United States, and France.
